A Bedroom Fit for a Princess

With the Royal Wedding fast approaching, and a 50% chance of a new princess being born too, it looks like being a princess will be all the rage. If your little one dreams of being a little princess, why not make her dreams come true and turn her bedroom into a regal space fit for a royal. Here are a few of our ideas for inspiration.

Of course, we had to start with our very own Crown Headboard. Every princess needs special head wear, and this headboard is the perfect focal point for her bedroom. Choose pretty pink, as per our picture, or a shiny golden tone to really set the scene.

Now, every princess needs a four poster bed and we love the elegance and simplicity of this model from Maisons du Monde. The cotton drapes are so romantic, and from a practical point of view, they will also hide a multitude of sins such as a messy bedroom or an ugly wall. And what’s even better is that our headboards can be made to fit the dimensions of this bed frame!

Your little one will want to jump into bed now, but what will they cuddle up under? We have fallen for this completely over the top, indulgent ruffled bedding from American site aliexpress.com. Have it shipped today for that real wow factor!

For younger princesses, we love these wall stickers by Enchanted Interiors: Your little one will love waking up to these cute murals every day and the new look princess bedroom will aid their imagination.

For a low cost and more subtle effect, try some Valspar silver effect glitter paint. You simply need to mix it with your chosen paint colour, and you have instant glitter on the walls. Your little princesses will love their twinkling bedroom, and you’ll probably want to use it throughout your home too – we are already hooked. The sparkly paint is also more likely to stay in favour with your child for longer than a wall sticker! Perfect for older princesses too – a bedroom fit for a disco princess.

No princess bedroom is complete without a dressing table, and we think this gorgeous child-friendly desk from the Great Little Trading Co fits the bill perfectly. It features a safety hinge drawer, and an acrylic mirror.

For a simple way to update furniture in your child’s bedroom, look at replacing the door knobs. These cute castle door knobs from Little Ragamuffin complement our headboard. The company also has beautiful butterfly door knobs too, ideal for fairy princesses!

A finishing piece? We love, love, love this fabulous chair available at Made in Design. Okay, it’s not strictly designed for children, but this means it will fit your little one plus their best friend. And the best part – this chair is actually designed for outdoor use so is sturdy and wipe clean – perfect for little princesses and their busy mums and dads!

And don’t forget, all princesses require somewhere to store their crystal slippers, glistening tiaras and numerous ball gowns. Our toy box can be made in a colour way of your little one’s choice and its dimensions will prove ample storage to ensure their bedroom remains tidy as well as pretty.
